Japanese Duck Sugar Bowl and Side Plates

Part of our Kinky Vintage Collection, carefully curated by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, this enchanting hand-painted porcelain tea service is a beautiful example of early 20th-century decorative ceramics.

Comprising a lidded sugar bowl with elegant twin handles and matching side plates, the set is exquisitely decorated with a serene waterside scene featuring richly coloured ducks among reeds and grasses. Soft celadon greens, blush pinks and pale blues are enhanced by delicate gilt detailing around the rims and decorative cartouches.

The rounded form of the sugar bowl, crowned with a sculpted finial lid, lends the set a particularly luxurious presence, while the hand-painted decoration gives each piece its own unique character.
